New to the forum but on my 2nd 90 series now..
Recently snapped a timing chain and did a fair amount of damage and my mechanic has told me an exchange engine is whats needed otherwise a cheap donor engine for parts..
I have hunted around Brisbane and can only find a couple that land me in the $4500 territory once fitted..This is a little too high for me as I only paid $5500 for the car just over a month ago. Yes I did ask if the timing chain was done and I was assured that it in fact had been sorted ( Seller has wiped his hands and claimed the chain was done so stated its most likely my fault somehow )
I understand these engines are pretty hard to find as its my 2nd week hunting non stop..
Does anyone know of a decent Engine exchange place In Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast ) that has good prices or does anyone have a 3RZ from a 90/95 series that they are willing to sell me..
Before anyone says just upgrade - I would like to but funds are very limited due to spending $5500 on the can a month ago and also towing and my mechanics work thus far..
Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated..
