  • Latest timing belt change out life for 3400 V6

I had the timing belt replaced around 90-100 000km ago and back then I heard rumours that the change out schedule for the newer belts is 150000km or something similar. Does anyone know if that is correct, or if it is still 90 to 100K change outs with the latest (last 5 years) belts.

My 2001 model lists 150K timing belt changes, assuming the earlier model engines timing belt and gears are the same item then 150K intervals.

It's 150,000km. I think in the early days Toyota specified 100,000km. Plus being a non-interference engine it's not going to terminate the engine if it breaks while driving. Mine's a 98 and its specified for 150,000km intervals.
