I have a 02 V6 Prado on duel fuel. Was going to fit a Safari Snorkel next week, but I am reading there may be issues with running it on gas with the snorkel because of the air flow. It is an ELKO direct injection gas system. Is anyone else running gas with a snorkel? and have you had any issues?

Re: LPG / Snorkel
I asked my LPG installer/mechanic about fitting a snorkel to my Dec 1999 Prado and was told it would prove to be a problem. Be interested to know if anyone has one fitted and if they have issues--> Macarthur District 4WD Club Member <--

Re: LPG / Snorkel
Ive got a Safari Snorkel fitted with the dual fuel and there are no issues what so ever, although I do have a breather hose fitted. Not sure if its just part of the LPG system, but my mechanic mate was releived when he saw it. Although as stated no other issues what so ever,

Re: LPG / Snorkel
hi guys,
from an earlier post, the same question was asked of lpg and snorkel. this is the answer from my mechanic who is a 4wd nut and an lpg installer and did my car
"Gday
I would have to check where the snorkel enters the engine bay as often they are designed for diesel vehicles and the airbox is in a different location.
But depending on the type of LPG system used there is no real problem to the performance , they run quite well. It does require the use of a Balance line between the LPG Convertor and Air Intake and a little bit of adjustment to fuel mixtures. This prevents the car stalling when coming to a stop or turning a corner. We have fitted many LPG systems to Patrols, Cruisers, Rodeos and Navaras with Snorkles and they work well."
