Re: 2002V6 Prado engine performance
Hi donny
There are a couple of things that i do to my car that makes all the difference, first is to change everything to good quality parts, don't skimp out on spark plugs because some are cheaper than the others, i beleive that you get what you pay for and i have found this to be true. change the lot, filter wise that is. And the maf sensor you can actually check it with a multimeter if it is running right, it explains to you in a gregorys bible book for your car how to do it, if you don't have this book i can find it for you and explain how to check it out. another thing is to take out your tps switch on the back of the throttle body and give it a good clean out with a good contact cleaner spray cause that senses how hard you are pushing the accelerator and adjusts ignition and timing and gearing to suit. And another thing git a compressor with a blower on the end and take your fan shroud off the motor and blast it out forwards, done wonders for my car is letting air through and letting the viscous fan cool and not lock all the time sucking up the power. My car does smell rich at the back too but after doing all these things to my engine it hasn't run like it is now for a long time. alot of horseys have come back to life. One more thing, on next service do a oil flush before draining and run a injector cleaner through both tanks, makes a hell of a difference
Hope i helped
