  • piggyback or fuel/timing management for the v6 3.4

Hi guys, just out of curiosity, what sort of engine management do you'll use to play around with fuel/timing on the V6 3.4? No O2 sensors, non interference engines, seems like a nice platform to play around with (I am very very new to playing with Prado's, but in the field of motors for quite a while).

By the smell of the exhaust I realise we are running quite rich just at idle!
Will do an AFR run next week and let you'll know how it really reads !

Did you get anywhere with the AFR test? Mine is the same, its so rich that once it builds up fuel pressure it is hard to start. I changed the fuel pressure reg and now its hard to start cold but starts ok once pressure is built up. It still smells very rich though. Would be interested to know what you found.

i would suppose any alterations would be after a maf sensor clean , and then disconnect battery , turn on lights , turn off lights connect battery, turn ignition on for a minute , off a minute then start and let idle for 20 minutes . that will drain the memory and reset fuel emition control from the computer . ... you should find better fuel economy and better start and idle . it works well for me.
