I have a duel fuel system and where I filll up there are two outlets one for main other for sub. However I was curious where the petrol goes if it does go into either spout but just the incasing. Does it find its way to the main or sub or just lies in the body of the car. Could someone please let me know.

Re: where does the petrol go?
You really want to know?? Ok I'll bite
The front one fills the sub tank, that lives in front of the rear axle on the left hand side. The rear one fills the main tank wihch lives behind the rear axle.
the guage for the main tank is in the instrument cluster with the speedo and tach etc. the guage for the sub tank is next to the radio.98 3400V6 manual

Re: where does the petrol go?
I'm pretty sure it has an overflow pipe that joins back onto one of the main pipes, (had the interior off once to do some minor panel beating) can't tell you which one off the top of my head, but it doesn't just go into the body.My Prado

Re: where does the petrol go?
*shrugs* I was going to have a look again today, but it slipped my mind till I read this again tonight, lol. But I am almost certain it has an overflow pipe (unless I'm thinking of my 4Runner), although I can't imagine it'd just run down inside the body, or you'd smell petrol inside every time you had a spill outside the filler spout until it evaporated. My Prado
