97 GXL 3.4 upgrade

Heya you lot.

I have a '97 GXL 3.4L, she is in great nick, well looked after & serviced. The engine is still strong though I plan to do some towing shortly. I cannot at this stage afford to upgrade to 120 or 150 series, so i'm going to have to live with what I have. I DO have however, some money to put towards upgrading the old girl.

I'm seriously looking at the Bullet TRD supercharger (plus suspension upgrades), but my question is;

With 170K on the clock, is it worthwhile or advisable to do this ?? TIA for any advice on this, cheers.

Isn't the Bullet supercharger $10k or something ridiculous?

I'd be whacking a set of extractors and exhaust on first and that should make a good difference. Someone does either a chip or computer upgrade too which is meant to be quite good, someone else here might be able to shed a bit of light on that.
Also check out the AirAid intake system and throttle body spacer. I'm intending to get these when money allows.

The 3.4 litres are over engineered. They are built tough. In the USA toyota drag racers are using them with 500hp stock bottom ends.
As long as the rest of the vehicle is in good nick and the engine has good compression go for it.

My car has 155 000kms and Im planning to keep it well over 300 000 kms. I will surely get my money back.

Im going to upgrade the exhaust and do a chip eventually. The bullet kits are around $8600 installed.
Extra 60 percent power and much better fuel economy too.

Factory cars always run on the richer side.
