I agree with Rossy on this one, much cheaper to go with a TRD supercharger.
The Bulletcars option is an expensive way to go though.
I got my "preloved" supercharger from the US, they go for around the $1500 -$2000 mark used or I think about $2750 for a new kit as opposed for $7000 for the Bulletcars option and it is the same unit!
Mine cost $1750 Aust plus some of my time to install, since then fitted the TRD ECU's thanks to Roosy and now have just fitted a Unichip giving more power and better economy.
From my experience the later model Prado's ECU and injectors appear more suitable for the upgrade.
I like the idea of the 4 lItre engine but for the price the supercharger upgrade is awsome. That inital quote surely was for Parts & Labour ... not plus! so if the rest of your Prado is good and your happy with it spend the dollars and fix your original engine perhaps with a hone and rings at the same time.
Randydog Sorry for the HiJack here
From the dreaded EBay, US version of course.
I had seen them several times so made crazy offer and bingo!
Did however make contact before bidding to check ok with shipping to Aust, good seller etc and confirmed covered in case of no show.
Randydog have you decided on which way to go yet as I see an engine on Ebay that might be ok?
