  • 1GR-FE conversion into 95 series?

Has anyone put a 1GR-FE (4000 V6) into a 95 series? (Auto?) If so what was involved and did you need engineers certificate for it. Any problems with the conversion and besides the engine what else needed to be changed? :?:

    Somewhat related...pradofreak has shoehorned a D4D into a 90 series 1kZ.

Re: 1GR-FE conversion into 95 series?

The 1zk to 1kd conversion was made easier by the fact that the transmission was compatible with minimal fuss.
I don't know if there would be such luxury with the 5VZ to 1GR swap. I don't think the petrol 120s used any of the same transmissions as the 90s.
Also, because the two donks are of different displacement, an engineers certificate is probably required.

Assuming the transmission is compatible, then the hard part will be the electricals (see link posted above).
