Goodday,
My name is Cobus and I'm from South Africa. I purchased a 95 series last year and sofar only had problems with it. After redoing the engine, gearbox, powersteering pump and dieselpump, another problem appeared... the steering rack. I had the steering rack reconditioned without the company informing me that the rack is actually stuffed even though they "reconditioned" it. Just out of a 3month warranty the rack and powersteering pump packed up. I opened it myself and saw the problem... the the rack is so badly damaged that it causes the seals to go. I replace the rack and the seals. Now I can see another culprit is the pinion shaft and sleeve (Toyota partnr:44201). I have been trying now nearly for 2months to get this part 44201 from Toyota and every day they give me another date. This is all due to the disaster that happened in Japan. And that's causing a lot of South Africans not getting their parts from Toyota. The 2nd hand steering racks I had a look at is in a worse condition then the one I have.
Toyota dealer gave me a new date of 11/07/2011 that they might deliver this part for me. I'm sorry I cant wait so long anymore.
This is where I need your guys help. Can anyone please see if they can find this part 44201 for me in their country and inform me so that I can see how much it will cost me to import it to South Africa. Any help will really be appreciated.
Thank you
