No, I'm doing 30min drives to work, in stop start traffic.

I have a power delivery issue up around the 2800 - 3900 rpm range...
Leon, I wonder if its related to your knock sensor as it begins to function around the 3000 rpm mark, if its faulty it might be retarding your timing => less power and poor economy

      Just a thought.

I'm averaging 13-14 l/100 around the city and a bit highway, that with the supercharger and I know it needs its timing increased from around 2500 rpm.

        Thanks Lee,
I got my car back today in a much better state than b4 it went in.
I am really sick on incompetence and hopefully I might have found a decent mechanic.

I put it in today thinking the 'master cylinder' was needing to be replaced as my brakes have been quite iffy for a while. Made all the more obvious when I hooked up the CT yesterday and it felt like it didn't want to stop

Wasn't the master cylinder but my previous mechanic had neglected to check my front brake pads or anything else for that matter so I've had the rotors and pads changed today on the front and it's stopping like new.

While it was in with these new guys they had a look to see if they could diagnose my power issue and straight away they found a vacuum leak (is that the correct term) as well as the throttle box (again... don't know what I'm talking about) was completely clogged. Full of carbon crap... so both of those things have been fixed, changed air filter and fuel filter and it seems to be running well so far.

Tomorrow and the next week will be the test when I fill it up and do my fuel figures after this service.

Fingers crossed I have my power and fuel economy back
My last mechanic has only been trouble shooting this for the last year and a half for me
        Cheers, Leon

Did you notice slight rough idling? Because vacuum leaks cause that. Provided everything is in order the 5vz-fe have very smooth idles.

Minh, the problem has been going for soooo long I wouldn't remember what was normal but I don't think it was rough at idle.
Asked about the knock sensor and they said they tested for that but no problems and it didn't return as an error.

So far so good though, seems to be using the entire rev range to accelerate now. The real test will be when I get to hook the CT up and see how it pulls that.

Thanks for all the suggestions though
            Cheers, Leon

power issues with 95 series usually are related to a dodgy afm. They dont throw codes. They just ceased to operate correctly.
Give that a good clean if it plays up again or replace it. Cheap enough off ebay.
