  • Faulty AC and Steering Shudder

I recently purchased a 1997 Land cruiser Prado which unfortunately had AC and steering wheel trouble. The former starts off quite okay cooling the car with cold air, however after about 2 – 3 hours it starts releasing humid warm air. I have had a mechanic check it for any leakages and had the gas replaced thrice now. I live in a really hot country (South Sudan) with temps of 38 degrees and above, so a fully functional AC is not a luxury:cry:. The steering wheel also shakes whenever i go past 60. I have replaced the old tyres with new off road ones and had wheel balancing and alignment done too. But the problem has persisted. Could someone/anyone possibly help me???

Yo, had a 97 prado with similar a/c problems, intermittent periods of coolness etc etc. Worked great while sat at the service centre making me look silly!!! Eventually they replaced a valve up under the dash and all went well.Afraid I can't remember what it was called exactly but was something like tx or cv.Hope it helps! Cheers..Grizz.
