  • Newbie in NZ with Prado with a lexus v8 in it

    Hi,
    I have been watching your forum and its a useful place. At present I have a Prado LJ71 here are some pics

    Engine

    Snorkel

    Winch

    Sideview

    I note that not alot of people here seem to have these.

    What im in the process of doing is buying a 1996 TX Prado (95 series). Is there anything i should be looking for, watching out for?

    Any help would be good

    Thanks

    Nick

    Hi there, great truck. Did you do the engine conversion yourself? And importantly are you going to put a Lexus V8 in a 90 series? I would love to see it done?
    '97 Prado RV 2.7 LPG, 2"OME lift TJM bullbar, airtec snorkle, 72 lt aux fuel tank. Wishing for better front seats!

        Looks like a well set up beast there Nick.

        There were a couple of Toyota factory recall/repairs on the 90/95 series last year. Apart from those I don't know of anything else specifically with the TX.

          Yes me and a mate did it at his 4wd shop. The thing i like about it is that it looks factory.

          The 90 we are going to do if/when the 1KZ blows up.

          Looking at options for a 50 mm lift what do people recommend? Which brand is best?

            Just beautiful? How much did the conversion cost you? Would I be able to do the same for my 90 Series SWB?

              Options seem to be...

              * Billies/Lovells

              * Lovells/Lovells

              * Ironman

              Probably the Billies/Lovells if your going to give a good/hard work out.

              Don't know about comp/heavier setups though
              Cheers, Leon
