  • No oil gauge ?

Hi all,I am new to this site and game so please go easy
I decided to say bye to my old 94 Surf 1kz after 8 trouble free yrs.I now have a 97 TZ and once again the 1kz,touch wood.
Why has the Prado got no oil pressure gauge, the old girl did. I realise there will be warning lights flashing if the crap hits the fan and all so for piece of mind should I fit a gauge? or simply check oil religiously,as I do and get used to no gauge.
    Cheers all.

Why do you need an oil gauge? Very few 4WD vehicles in my experience have them.

From what I gather, it used to be a standard inclusion on the older 4x4s, the 80 series definitely had them and my old 2.4 surf had one too. Seems to have been phased out over time.
