  • Engine heat

Anyone had any issues with the engine heat blistering the paint on the front passenger side guard/wing. Can't even touch it its so hot, how would i solve it? and is it a known problem? Would a snorkel help keep the engine air flow cooler as the air filter is on this side.

    Cheers Craig

I don't know any cases of paint damaged caused by radiant heat. What engine do you have? Petrol V6? Petrol I4? Turbo Diesel?

I had a 90 series TD for years. Never encountered what you describe. It certainly got warm but not as hot as you are experiencing. I did heaps of hard beach work etc so worked the engine extremely hard.

Are all the fan cowlings etc in place? What about the wheel arch mouldings?

There's not some bodgy aftermarket wiring or accessory mounted up there is there?

              Sounds very strange.

NTP, if you had bothered to read my post properly you would have seen that the 1st time it was posted it seemed to disappear from the forum. No if the person who starts a post can't find it, what hope do I have of getting a reply - sensible or otherwise. I consider this a problem with the forum settings not poor etiquette from the member. Maybe look at why instead of getting peoples backs up, and rectify the problem. I will enlist the help of the local main dealer, but thanks for your interest. Hopefully the next time I choose the forum for advise and help it'll work a little better. Cheers craig
