  • 3rd row seat mounting

    Hi,
I have recently bought a 2001 90 series Prado RV. The car came without the 3rd row dicky seats so I have since bought a set of seats from a guy on Ebay for trips to Wet and Wild etc.. When I went to mount the seats the left hand one bolted in just fine with the two bolts at either end of the hinge on the side of the seat. With the right hand seat however the rear bolt point on the car is not there. Instead there is a point with two bolts in it about 20 cm lower down. I pressume I am missing some kind of a bracket that bolts on and provides the necessary bolt hole to attach the seat to. I have tried talking to my local wrecker with no success since he has 'never wrecked a 90 series' which I suppose is a good sign for the quality of the car. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

That's right Nick - there is a bracket required. It is usually covered with little clip-on plastic covers but this is what it looks like with the plastic covers removed.

Can you contact the person you bought the seats from and see if they can supply the bracket as well - preferably also with the plastic trim covers also!

BTW: What are you planning to do about seatbelts?

      Hey mate
I see you are at byron so not sure if this will be useful or not? I have always got my spares for my 90 series from AllFourXFour Parts in Minden Qld

Just something to keep in mind Nick just check that your RV isn't registered as a 5 seater instead of 8. If pulled over by police it could cause you some dramas/headaches and possibly even the lightening of your wallet. Just a thought mate!
