90 series diesel manual transfer case clunk in H4

hey, i have a problem and hoping someone can help me find the problem. SO i h4 it wont drive and has really bad clunking and grinding coming from passenger front wheel and only that side. when u put it in h2 its fine thats how im driving it now, so whats the problem with H4?

First off can we clarify what transfer case selection you are using when the issue occurs? There is no H2 or H4, it's...
H - High Range 4x4 (open center, similar to an AWD)
HL - High Range 4x4 (center locked)
N - Neutral
LL - Low Range 4x4 (center locked).

It's possibly a front axle or diff failure but if you can clarify the above we will have a better idea.
