We were in D'Aguilar on Saturday when we heard a surprisingly loud bang (metal snapping sound) with full lock left, nose down, in low range. Shortly afterwards I tried to switch back to high range and lost all drive. This was on one of the black/tricky routes, so at that point I was a little worried. Back in low range and we had drive back, but with a clunking sound as we went along. I just assumed that I must have snapped a front drive shaft so decided to get it back to a tar road. What I should have done was take a bit more time to find out exactly what was wrong... When we finally parked up to call for help I decided to take a closer look. I have never been so happy to see a snapped drop link The loss of drive up on the track was the first time I have found a false neutral when switching from low to high range, and did confuse me a bit. But very happy it wasn't the front diff which had also crossed my mind. So time for some extended links.95 3.0 Camp Car, 150 V6 Daily Driver[SIZE=4]

Only time will tell if they're worth it or not, unsure of pad/rotor wear which is my only concern's. One of the main reason I got them, was because I tow a camper, not that I've experience brake fade with the STD rotor while towing yet, It's something I never want to. I've had a few close call's lately, and found I had to push fairly hard to try and stop in a emergency (running bigger tyre's, bar work and so on) Was shocked when I had it on a weighbridge the other day and found the old girl is pushing nearly 2.5t unloaded. Now wonder she struggle's going up hill's. Now with the front rotor's/ pad's only done, braking feel's a lot more positive, less pedal pressure to pull up. Mine you I haven't jumped on them yet. Do I think they're better then STD......... short answer S#!t YEAH!!!!!
Good luck, I hope this help's with your decision. It's definitely a upgrade.

Just wondering, how well do the slotted rotors work in off road conditions? Don't the groves fill with mud or dirt?
I don't tow anything when we go away, but I'm always concerned about brakes fading goiing down long steep drives with the car fully loaded and am thinking to do an upgrade next time the breaks need to be done.
