            Hay Pradofreak

Do you have to get a D4D motor with everything on it eg :Ac compress , power steering pump and alternator? Or could you use the old ones? I guess you would have to also get the D4D ecu to replace the old one?

            Cheers

My guess is it had something to do with "hooning" No 'evil' intent, just keeping the forum 'clean'

Has anyone else done this conversion?

After a fairly thorough search on the web, there only seems to be one place in Brisbane selling low km full 1KD imported motors. Does anyone know of anyone in Sydney where you could get a 1KD with all the gear required? Would anybody be brave enough to estimate how long it would take a mechanic to drop one in a 95?

                  Thanks,

Hi Chippy, this thread is really old, but perhaps some of you guys are interested.
I'm having a Lexus V8 (1UZ-FE VVTi) "shoe horned" into my 90. Here is a pic of the mill with some more prepping still required. Unfortunately I live quite far from the workshop where the work is being done. Will send pictures of the completed job in due course. The work is being carried out by Mark Watson, who put a 1GZ (Lexus V12) engine in an LC truck (we call them "bakkies"). It shows you what can be done in this regard.

                    My engine

And here is a Hilux where the 5L engine was replaced by a 1UZ pre-VVTi

This is a thread by Mark on the 1GZ - you may have to register on the lextreme website before you can view, not sure.

I did not expect Marks conversions to look so neat.

I bet you are looking forward to the getting it all finished Louis.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

I got a quote last week from Franks in Smithfield. They have a 2010 Prado I think with everything except the box, but including the ignition barrel, key and wiring (ie all the security) for $8k. A lot of money, considering I can get a half cut 1UZ VVTI petrol V8 for around $2700. The wreckers know they are rare, consequently they're exy.

Dravos, you have no idea! I feel like the time when as a kid I "suspected" I was going to get my first bicycle on my birthday...
Sorry, the idea was not to hijack the thread. I'll post my thread once the job is finished and I had the opportunity to do some fuel economy tests.
