Lubrication points and frequency

Hi all,

I would like to perform this at my house instead of trying to communicate with someone who can't say a word of English and the quick oil change place.

Do I need a grease gun to perform the lubrication on my Prado VX? Can someone please tell me what I need to lubricate, the grease I need to use, the type of grease/lube, and the frequency.

Following the recent installation of the ARB tow bar, it looks as dry as the desert under the car, especially the drive shaft points.

On my vehicle there are a number of grease nipples on the universal joints on the driveshaft(s) near the gearbox, transfer case and rear differential. Some of them are not that easy to locate. You will need to be able to rotate the wheels so the shafts rotate to give you access to the nipples.

I use a small grease gun (it is easy to handle while laying on the ground under the vehicle) with a general purpose grease. I grease every 10,000 kilometres or more often if driven through creeks. Lubrication depends on how hard your driving conditions. Heavy driving offroad in desert sand is likely to be pretty heavy work.

agree as above but gotta make a not dont just pump as many times as you can this would,nt do much good and in most cases cause,s all sort of problems !!

general rule pump 3 time max once every 10, 000ks but if you been 4wdriving which involves creek or water crossing then i would just give it a few pumps once at camp or home etc !!

Anybody has diagrams for all the grease points on a 90 series??? I can't seem to find it on my manual!
