Wheel Bearings

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be going on a really big 4wd trip (3.5-4 months and about 20000kms). And this are going to be my first real big trip in my prado :P !My prado is a 2000 TD auto with 117000km on it. I was wondering do you guys think I should change the bearings before I go or maybe just do a pre trip check and just carry some spares ones.

Also I heard that these bearings are a sealed unit too, is that true?

I would think before going on a big trip like that a comprehensice pre trip check would be in order, perferrably by a specialist 4wd mechanic. But im no mechanic so would rather have everything in top form before leaving the driveway!

I think you will be sweet mate! just every time you stop just put ya hand up to the wheel near the bearing and just make sure its not HOT. its ok if it warm. just make sure its not hot.

But then again its better being safe than sorry.
