I was planning to drive across the Nullarbor in my 5vzfe 90 Auto Prado in a weeks time.
Yesterday went to Bunnings to pick up building supplied to build a bed in the back. Parked in the car park, went shopping and then moved the car to the loading bay. All good so far.
Loaded the stuff and all of a sudden the car wouldn't start. It was cranking but not catching. Tried 3 times and had no luck. Went inside to see if there was someone who might be able to help and one of the staff came out. Was just about to show him the issue and it started immediately.
Fuel was pretty low (just under 1/4 left in the sub tank and just above empty marker on the main) so I stopped and put a bit into the sub tank. It wouldn't start at the pump again. left it a few minutes and tried again and it caught, hesitantly.
Drove home without any issues. This morning tried and it started first time again.
Would appreciate some advice on how to deal with this. It has been a little hesitant about 3 times before but I mean it just needed an extra few cranks on that ignition attempt. Never not been able to start on a single starting attempt before. Now it seems to be starting without any problem so I can't even take it to a mechanic because there isn't anything to diagnose but obviously don't want something like this to happen on the Nullarbor.
Cheers
