Re: Rear Bumper Pics!!
I just did a quick search on rear bar in the 90s section and found this:
Rear Bar - Custom Rear Bar with dual wheel carrier. Two seperate PPers have built these independantly. Looks the goods.Nick

Re: Rear Bumper Pics!!
Mine looks like this. Had to adapt because I have a 40mm body lit as well as the suspension lift, so there is a bigger gap to cover. The lights are NAS Landrover. The eyes will take towing strains as they screw directly into the chassis rail extensions.

Actually, went slightly mad and made a front one too.

Re: Rear Bumper Pics!!
Thanks Fella. It's a pretty long list of mods. The latest is a front diff lock. Yet to try it out. The receiver on the rear takes a demountable winch, which will also fit on the front just in case I ever need TWO winches.
Anyway, on the actual bumper build -
The small connection is for my air line from the tank underneath. I think if you are going to make a rear bumper, it's actually easier to chuck the standard lights (if you have them in the bumper) and just go with something from a parts catalogue. I didn't paint it - I had it powder coated. Very durable. OK we got the colour wrong. Tricky getting the joint to the old plastic. if you have access to a roller/ bender, then things can be a lot easier. I used a lot of cardboard making templates that's for sure. Plenty of pics if you need any other ideas on the mounts inside etc.

Re: Rear Bumper Pics!!
Sure. Here's what I hung it off.
This is the extension

Here's where it fits into the chassis

And this is it welded onto the rear section. The loose reinforcing plate was later fully welded onto the chassis box once lined up

This is a close up just before I tacked it. The nuts were welded captive onto the new section

I used 20mm eye bolts screwed into captive nuts inside the mounting point

That help for now?

Re: Rear Bumper Pics!!
Don't know that there is much more to show you in a technical sense. The rear receiver is home-made but I know that ARB make one. I took a standard shop bought tow bar, cut off the dangly bits and simply welded 10mm plate steel around a piece of 50mm box section to make the receiver.
This is the genuine ARB one that I copied

And here is the winch mounted on its sled in place in the receiver. Very handy.

Then you just make any attachments that you fancy. Like this shackle.

This is how the front winch is mounted.

The plate is 8mm. In all there are 11 bolts holding it on. It shouldn't come off!
I then built the bumper around the winch

I'm pretty new at this and don't have all of the workshop tools and space that I need. So stuff looks a bit home made, but it's functional and strong. Once I get a plasma cutter I will be able to cut more complex shapes.
