Just got my first prado, a 99 grande vx, I love it, However curious on interior lights, does the gear lever on the floor light up and the power and 2nd button light when you have the lights on. You see at night you cant see anything down there so only way you know what gear your in is if you look at the dashboard. Is this the standard way Toyota have set up or do I need bulbs replacing, Also on the fan switches there looks like a plastic white tip on the knobs but these dont light up either. Hope someone can clear this up for me Thanks Heaps

Re: new Prado owner
I presume yours is auto yeh?
If so, my 96 has never had anything light up on or under the gear lever.
It does however have a vertical display in the dash which lights up, 'P', 'D', 'N', 'L', 'R' etc depending on what you're in.
And as for the fan switches, I'[m pretty sure they don't light up (someone will confirm) but are made of a glow in the dark stuff so you can see the faint light at night.<Rob> '12 Prado GX - https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/general/my-rig-build-up/32702-i-m-back-with-a-2012-150-gx-toorak-tractor

Re: Console and auto shift lighting questions
mines a late 01 GXL so may not be relevant but P R N D 2 L next to the shifter should light up (mine don't as I removed the globe cause it cheesed me off and there are lights in the dash), the '2nd start' and 'pwr' buttons do light up (just checked as i wasn't sure)
