    Re: Driversc seat sagging

    gphcald,

My 90 has done the same thing with the drivers seat... Previous owner was a bigger lad so i will blame him...

There is a metal bar in the lower part of the back rest and it digs right into my tailbone - awesome when your bouncin through the bush!

I was thinking of taking the seat out and off to a local trim shop and getting it re-foamed to repair it and also add a bit more support (lumber, side). I have had this done to some of my other cars before and usually get out of it for a couple hundred bucks.

Might be an avenue you can explore.

    Chris.

      Re: Driversc seat sagging

About six months ago I picked up a drivers seat for mine (exact same trim/colour) in virtually new condition for $120. My original was well and truly worn out on the base and the side support.
By far easiest/cheapest option IMO, well worth a few phone calls to some local wreckers.

I had a Stratos seat fitted by Opposite Lock almost immediately after I purchased the Prado. With the factory seat I could not even drive 80km before my back was killing me. Fitting the Stratos required a special frame as the attachments to the floor are different.

I can drive for 2 hours no problem with the Stratos seat.

Other brands would be similar I presume.

Excellent response Ray, are the Stratos comparable to say Recaro etc ?
