Long time reader, first time poster!
Pradopoint is a great forum for finding and diagnosing problems. I was wondering if any 95 series owners have had power steering problems or if they can direct me to an existing thread.
I have just purchased a 95 TX after owning a 120 D4D for 12 months and as part of the low price that I paid I inherited steering without power assistance. When the car is started first time for the day I have power assisted steering for 3-4 minutes and then it fades to nothing. Currently it is with my local mechanic, he has diagnosed the problem with the rack and not the pump.In speaking with the mob that are to recondition the rack he was told that they have had around 8 racks from prado's in the last six-eight months.
This prompted me to finally register on this great forum
and bring it up.
Any input would be great.
