  • T/Belt light

Sorry if this question has been asked a million times. I contacted the precious owner of my recently purchased 2001 Lancruiser colarado (uk spec Prado) 3.0 D4D and he told me that the timing belt was changeed about 7000 miles ago.

How can I reset the light?
Is the procedure different to the older engined 3.0td colarado of the same shape?
Can it be done with a diagnostic machine as I have access to a snap-on machine

This may not be the best forum to pose this question as I have just been made aware that the D4D engine was only available in the newer shape.

    Re: T/Belt light

Sorry but I doubt any one would be able to confidently answer that question as this vehicle is not sold in Australia . And I am sure the 90 series dont have a timing belt light - not that I have noticed

have you tried using the same procedure as for the 1KZ-TE in the same shape prado. If not I recon give it a go as you've nothing to loose.
If it doesn't work then I can't help apart form suggesting you go to a dealer and have them do it.

On another point, if the light has come on, can you b e 100% sure the belt has been changed (receipts etc). If not for my money, I'd be doing it to be confident.
