Ok, so I'm sure to get comments on this Peruvian custom, but here in the early 00's they would import Toyotas from Japan and switch them to left hand drive. I bought one, 3-door 3RZ-FE engine, 11 years ago, my first Prado (bought a P120 6 years ago, now Prado all the way), and it's still great for getting around town, low gas usage, city parking, and intimidating the crazy Peruvian taxis to think I'm a big Prado in their rear view mirror.
As I have been redoing the interior myself, and am about to redo the seats and change the floor carpet, I would like to avoid the annoyance of non-toddler size people making me get out of the driver's side to let them into the back seats.
So I would like to find and install the sliding mechanism for the right side front seat... where it belongs in LHD. If it was an option I would just swap the one I have to the other side but it doesn't look possible.
Am I wrong to observe that Toyota put risers in the floor to make the front seats ride higher than a regular car, and I only need to find a standard right front seat sliding mechanism from any LHD Toyota of a certain year range?
Thanks
