I want to replace the front seats but not keen on spending the money on new after market seats. Has anyone tried fitting seats from wrecked cars? I have heard about people fitting Celica or some other sports or luxury car seats (they are more wrap around and more lumbar adjustment) to other models but nothing to a Prado. Has anyone found which seats have the same base measurements as the Prado and can be a simple change over? I have searched the site and can't find the answer I am looking for, so if it has been done before please point me in the right direction.

I have changed mine to used Recaro Style -seat. I ordered König seat console and rails (specific for this model) for it, but the combination was too high and too much left. I had to cut the console to peaces and weld it back 4.5 cm lower and 3 cm right. Some other modifications was needed too. I have been happy with the result. 8-)
The handbrake handle was not a problem:
