You've done a very good job. If I may offer a suggestion regarding the security of the false floor, which I assume you bolt/screw the drawers to.
I have bolted mine down using the holes previously holding the seat locking points. You may have to purchase the bolt from a specialist supplier because of the thread and length required.

Did the frame system come with the roller bearings or was that your idea?

          Wizard,

First off I completely removed all the bolts and gear from the rear
          http://tinyurl.com/jxl2m

Then made up the false board with packers to get a flat surface
          http://tinyurl.com/g8f2n

Installed necessary bolts into floor, placed board over the protruding bolts and pushed down on board to indent bolt location (beats measuring any day) then drilled holes using indents.

Drawer runners were suggested to me by my brother inlaw, and they are bolted through the alloy.

One thing that the pics don't show is the top and bottom "wings" that complete the install.
On the side of the box are two lower flaps that hinge down from the box and rest on bump stops that sit in the place of the outboard seat mounts.
These platforms hold on the pass. side a handwinch (complete with cable)
and on the drivers side is the auxilliary (AGM) battery.
The top flaps lower to rest on vertical boards that 'seal' these side areas and provide mounts for a fire ext. on one side and aux battery distribution and monitoring gear.
By using hinges to fold the flaps up and out of the way the entire box (without drawers and slide) can be unbolted (6 bolts) and slid out the rear by two people (wife and self) easily.

One more thing, this setup was taken from Sydney to Broome via western Qld dirt roads and the Gibb River Road And returned past Uluru and several rough dirt roads in the centre with absolutely no problems at all.

If anyone has any questions do not hesitate to ask.

              G'day all.
I've recently finished my own roller drawer system with fridge slide. They can be viewed at http://www.pradopoint.com/prado/profile.php?uid=42

The drawers have been in for about a month now and they will support my full weight, around 90 kg, when fully extended, and they haven't made a sound not even over speed bumps. I'm working on a set of drawings to allow others to make their own. The cost to make these drawers will be around $700 including the folding of the sheet metal, purchase of 42 roller bearings, fixing bolts and rivets, carpet lining, checker plate, steel sections, rubber stops, handles and locks. The most expensive part is the sheetmetal, but this is where it gets its strength.

Yeah I know $700 sounds like a lot but it is a lot cheaper than the $2150 I was quoted for almost the same level of gear from a well known retailer.

              Regards
              D.T.

Nicely done. I see that storage systems are very common down under.

Just curious, how much do these drawers rattle when driving on dirt roads?

Not to say that they are uncommon but they are not that regularly seen in all 4X4's in Oz. As for the rattles, mine don't make any noise at all. This is due to the way they are designed. Top bearings and rubber bump stops double as a lock down to hold it all in place. As long as you make it with minimal tolerances there are no problems.

                  Regards
                  D.T.
