    Nothing major over this side of the world Beach. Take it down the test station and get a ticket. Pretty simple really. Believe it or not. We have a points system over here with regards to modifications and its more to do with the identifiability of the vehicle.

    IIRC you need 8 points total to keep everything above board and these are allocated thus

    body = 5
    chassis = 2
    axles = 2
    transmission = 2
    steering assembly = 2
    engine = 1

    Modifications to the chassis only include shortening the wheel base or the overall length, not welding on additional bracketry or cutting off rusty old stuff.

    transmission does not include transfer box

    so by my reckoning that make 10 points.

      Looking great!

      I wish Aus was that easy on our mods !

      The only thing I'd suggest is to consider reinforcing the front-most cross member. In standard form it's quite weak but the articulation-limited independent suspension helps hold everything together. However, with solid axle the suspension is likely to cause more left/right stress on the chassis rails. Have a look at an 80 series front end, it's cross member is beefed up in comparison.

      I would have also reinforced the chassis rails a little as well but that's probably overkill for green laning.

        Got a feeling I may replace or beef up the front x member have been umming and arrrring about it as the winch mount I built a while back kinda renders is obsoleate. Plus there is the cross member for the panard and steering box still to go in. so that should strengthen things up a bit. the 90 chassis rails do however seem to be made from the same 3mm as the 80 rails and to be honest the amount of contact points that the brackets will have once fully welded in would render plating them over serious overkill.

                      Amazing job and a very enjoyable read. Sure there are a few very jealous 90 owners here. Looking forward to seeing how it goes after the mods are completed.

                            Sorry Glen been crazy busy since I got back.

                            The weekend was excellent. To be honest morale had dipped a little in the week running up to the event and I was very close to turning up with a for sale sign in the window but after the first test I could not wipe the grin off my face for the whole weekend.

                            We arrived around lunch on the friday. The decision was made to trailer the truck down as a 180 mile run as its first test might have been a little risky. Once there we set up camp. (mine is the green tent in the corner.

                            Once people started arriving I thought a couple of comparison shots where in order. First one is up against a LWB collie (Prado) on a 2 inch lift with 33's.

                            And then going up against the Big Boys. Not sure what lift is on this but it is running the same 37's as me.

                            another quick one for scale

                            It was commented on several times over the weekend how "to scale" She looks even though she is running huge rubber and I think I agree.

                            I had a little teething problem on the Saturday morning. Well I didn't get chance to sort out the rear locker before I set off so I got under the truck and had a go at sorting it.

                            Others had the important job of standing round drinking tea and supervising.

                            But I managed to get it sorted during the morning briefing which had to be move to accomodate my tinkering.lol

                            The weekend was based around a series of punches but to get at most of them you had to work as a team. This is the first punch. The idea was to drop down into the river, grab the punch and be winched or pulled back out.

                                There was a substantial drop off to the drivers side which had I slipped into the truck would have been on its roof hence hooking the winch line up just to be safe.

                                Next was a deep mud run through the clay pits.
