Best to leave the 120 at home, we might scratch her. Went for a drive Sunday with Fergs and found a stuck Hilux, we had fun doing a recovery. Lucky we turned up, bit isolated that spot.

Heres a bit of an update on the rear bar. I managed to get a full weekend and do some serious work on it. After remounting the main section I worked out the measurements for the arms etc.
All ive got left to do is weld up the clamps, locking pin and wheel suports and she ready for painting and fitting off the LEDs.

Zook are the two lugs underneath recovery points? Hard to tell from the pictures but you may want to consider plating the box section and welding the lugs on that or adding a couple of plates either side of the existing lug weld and welding that to the lugs and box. Not sure of the material sizes but you may tear out the box in a recovery. Nice work by the way, very neat.

Just another update on the progress on the rear bar. Shes now painted and on the vehicle. Im rather happy with the results although already have found some things I need to correct. Firstly the bar seems to sway when both tyres are attached, so some extra supports are needed. Secondly one of the arms are out a bit, its possble to correct by cutting off the tyre mount or were the arm attaches to the axle stub. The weight all up is 53kgs which include the arms, lights, rear bar and wheel nuts. This weight doesnt include the tow bar which I forgot to weigh, so anybody out there who has there Hayman Reece bar off at the moment can you possibly weigh it for me. Just for interest sake of coarse.

Photos taken today show the rear bar with the tyres attached, lights on and working. Note the snug fit at the rear, the first one shows the tyres sticking right out either side. In fact they hardly stick out at all.

although it looks the part its not finnished yet. Still got to sort out the flex when both tyres are on and the left arm doesnt match the right one, then there is
the aluminuim checker plate on top and all the other bits and pieces like airbag valves etc to fit. I even have a pair of small spotties to fit under somewhere.
As for the spring loaded lock downs they dont touch the number plate at all, in fact it has about 10mm clearence. This is why its taken so long to
build, measure 24 times, suck a few beers and think for long periods of time before cutting once.
I did made a few mistakes though, im not making another one thats for sure, too much work.
I can see why they charge the amount the big boys do for these. You can buy 2 ARB winch bar for the price of one of these.
But theres nothing like building it yourself though, my new motto is "BUILT NOT BOUGHT",
