What do you think, I am going to mount the solenoid in a waterproof box under the bonnet then put some remote switches into the cab, the remote plus will be mounted somewhere on the front grille area. The freewheel change over lever is easily accessed between the fins in the front bumper, hopefully get the winch in this weekend

On my vehicle I have a Tigers 11 winch, which uses the normal plug in winch controller as well as a wireless one, I only ever use the wireless remote as it still gives you free movement in the cab, you just need to keep a spare 9V battery with you. This also gives you absolute freedom as to where to mount the winch controller.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Re: 90 Series Hidden winch Mount
Looks sweet!
Only thing I would be concerned about would be having to reach basically under the bumper to reach the lever.
Might be a bit of a hassle if you're stuck in high mud or water maybe?<Rob> '12 Prado GX - https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/general/my-rig-build-up/32702-i-m-back-with-a-2012-150-gx-toorak-tractor

Re: 90 Series Hidden winch Mount
changeover lever is in through the top slot in the bumper, given the height on my truck if I have an issue with mud that deep I dont think the winck will even get me out
I did have concerns and was going to rotate it through 90 degrees and have it through the front of the mount but decided against itColorado 3.4 V6, 4 inch Lift, 265 75 16 Cooper STT's, Custom Rocksliders, 30mm Wheel Spacers

Re: 90 Series Hidden winch Mount
Yeah it does look good. You running synthetic rope or cable. I can see you don't have rollers so assuming synthetic.
How easy is it to plug in the controller? By this I assume you can't plug it up without lifting the bonnet which woulkd cut down on visibility during a winching operation. Any way to relocate the plug either within the cab or neatly out of the way on the side of the winch mount facia?Nick
