      http://www.nolathane.com.au/about.php

I got this brand from Repco for my front diff & sway bar bushes.

Apparently its better to stick with rubber bushes for trailing arms/suspension as poly ones can limit travel a bit.

agree with the comment about the rubber bushes, nolathane is great if you want a stiff suspension for say a race car, for a fourbie just go the rubber, the genuine pair of front sway bar bushes cost me a princely sum of $30 from toyota, should last another ten years

Can't see them listed as a stocked brand anymore... but this is where I got mine from. http://www.trekmaster.com.au/index
Maybe they can post to WA if they still stock them.

That is similar to the kit I installed on my last vehicle. Can't fault 4wd direct. Delivered in a couple of days, and the guy who sells them seems like one of the good guys in the business. He is very active on another forum I am involved in and gets my vote.
I am considering fitting Bilstien shocks with Lovells springs, but thinking back.... the lovells gas legend shocks were great on my last vehicle.

Time for an up-date on the Lovells suspension...

Now, after 70,000 klms the rear has dropped to 80cm and the front is sitting at 77cm.

I suspect the rear shocks might be getting a bit tired as I'm getting a pattern on the rear tyres where every 2nd lug has the dust wiped off it in a carpark (ie. slowly moving and the shock isn't pushing down with enough force).
Mike from Pitstop tells me this is a sign they're on their last legs.
Still doesn't effect the wear on the tyres though.
                  Cheers, Leon

Thats sounds like scalloping, eventually the alternate lugs wear down.

My old ST's had this by the time they where replaced but I didn't see it on the BFG MT's I replaced them with.

                    PS still running original suspensions/shocks.....195,000km

Rear is around 805, front is around 795.
Very happy with the ride so far on and off road.

                          Actually Matt... I dunno
I've always driven my previous cars shocks into the ground... never paid for shocks before ops:

They haven't been treated badly but they have done plenty of hard work.

                          How long should they last?

i'm far from mechanically minded so for all i know it could be good! i know I've done 181000 k's on my originals. though that's not a benchmark they probably should have been replaced long ago!

Reading here that is exactly what you can expect from them "3 year / 70,000km warranty" if this is the kit you got?
                              http://www.4wddirect.com.au/scart/html/387.html

I would have thought they would last longer than original toyota setup.... I'm reading EFS is 100,000km warranty... but i guess that a differnet price range too. I like my warranties.. Usually a good guide.

                                Re: Finally lifted... with Lovell's

                                Love an easy fix!!!

After talking with Richo at the GTG I figured it was time to cast a fresh set of eyes over my 90.
I have had a annoying squeak coming from the front end for about 3 or 4 months now... I thought it was the shocks getting old and leaking dry or something.
Last week the squeak got so loud I couldn't bare it anymore... sounded like a dodgy trailer so how does one fix this problem with out any time to fix it... easy, wind up the window ops:

Well, yesterday it got so bad I had to even close the sunroof (like my fixes so far )

Half way through a job I was on the road and realised I was near the mechanic Richo said to try... so I called in.

He stopped working on the RAV that was on the hoist and all I wanted was a diagnosis so when it came in for a service I knew what to expect.

He undid the lower strut connection point and loosened the bolts at the top to eliminate the struts from the equation but then he figured they were half way out... so out they came.
Sure enough, now no squeak with the struts out, so I thought I was up for a new pair at the front.
On further inspection the ball joint at the bottom of the struts were bone dry... so, a quick application of grease before they went back in and the squeak was GONE!! Wooohooo!!

Such a simple fix and not that hard to trouble shoot... to think I had mentioned this problem to my other mechanic 4 or 5 times over the last 4 months and nothing was done

Suffice to say I've booked the car in for it's next service and for a fresh set of eyes to have a go at my power issue.
                                Cheers, Leon
