they cleared awesome on the road and fowled bad offroad so if i can't run them all the time i can't be bothered doing the modsfor it, i'm just going to move them on and then in 6 months i might sell my current baby at's and get something a little bigger in an aggresive tread again. it's a whole different world when your running 17's.. 265/70r17's are 1 inch bigger than standard 90 series prado tyres which makes them illegal, but they are legal on a 120 because they start off with slightly bigger tyres. I've got 275/65r17's at the moment which are 12mm taller than standard 90 series tyres, i'd like a 275/70r17 i rekon.

the annoying thing is that 17 inch sizes are really hard to get because cars like 200 series run 17's. So i couldn't get anything decent in time to clear my defect. Mtr's, km2's out of stock, atz's not the right sizing, and i wasn't going to pay for coopers, YUK I honestly think if i was running something that was only 20-25mm taller than standard transport would not have picked it.

120's have the same size tyres as the 90's. 265/70R16 vs 265/65R17

The FJ cruiser on the other hand has the next size up, 265/70R17

You better check with QLD Transport first because I have this feeling that even though a mod is "engineered" it is not necessarily legal.
The current rules in QLD are 15 mm increase in diameter, with as I understand it, no option for a greater increase with engineering approval .

Would be annoying to go to the trouble and cost of engineering a solution only to be told "nah mate, its still illegal"

I'd just like to point out to anyone thinking about installing upper arms from USA: talk to an engineer or your registration authority first!

Yes, they look great, probably work a treat, and are easy to order (I was soooooo close), but you may find it very difficult to have your vehicle certified/insured with them.
