Re: Flex your muscles...
heres mine with the front sway bar disconnected, havent disconnect the rear as the coil may become untrapped, an do not wanna do that... ill make up some new coils when i get some time that are bout 20 or 30mm longer but are variable rate so they sit at the same height as now... in this photo the coils were still trapped but loose...
as u can see in the second image the sway bar is at full extension
will post up some more pics when i get round to makin the new coils
Thanks

Re: Flex your muscles...
andy they are dobinson 120 series rear shocks, the reason for usin these over the 80 series on like beast2h uses is they are closes to the standard ones in the valving, so i still get a soft but controlled ride... i think the 80 series ones are stiffer but yeh each to their own

Re: Flex your muscles...
Nice pics Chris. I did disconnect the rear swaybar a little while ago and found minimal difference in drop, so I left it attached for onroad drivability and legal. Can you show a pic of front end drop with no swaybar attached. Front end is compressed in both shots.
Cheers

Re: Flex your muscles...
hey joel, thanks. well the only other couple of pics i got of it with the front sway bar out is this.
this is without the ramp under the front wheel
i measure the height of the forks in a similar pic, urmmm it measured 700mm with the front sway bar in and 760mm without. this is from where the forks bend closest to the boom. thought it wasnt bad considerin my cousins GQ get 860mm
im not sure if this answer ur question, if not show us a pic of urs and ill try and duplicate it to see wat you mean
Thanks
Chris
just a pic i like

Re: Flex your muscles...
nah thats good Chris, and thanks for the measurements too. You can get pretty good drop with the front swaybar out. an extra 50-60mm is nice, I just don't know what sort of longer term problems that it 'may' cause.2000 Toyota Prado GXL- Gone, but not forgotten...

Re: Flex your muscles...
yeh i mostly have mine in, only if it gets real hairy i might drop it out. umm if ya put diff drop spacers in it would reduce the angle, but dont forget the arms can only travel as far as the strut will let it... which at ext. is 465mm. not sure wat the originals are, will measure them weni get back to the work shop tomorrow to see if there is any extra down travel

Re: Flex your muscles...
It never occurred to me to measure my travel, lol. I'll have to remember to do it next time my front bar is out (prolly next month)
Where do you measure from, is it just guard to bottom of rim? (like when you're measuring lift)
I'm just curious to know how much difference there is between mine and one with standard ball joints. My Prado

Re: Flex your muscles...
yeah, I would measure from guard to the bottom of the rim, would be interesting to see the differences. I have and will consider extra flexible bushes in rear arms to see if that would increase rear flex.2000 Toyota Prado GXL- Gone, but not forgotten...
