    Re: Flex your muscles...

They'd have to make a difference, I know when I put urethane ones in my rear control arms, it ruined my flex.

did you replace upper, lower or both. and is it ok to remove them one at a time while the car is sitting on level ground?

for this measurement it was the length of the strut itself... but i can lift up the front end with or without the sway bar in if ya want and see how much the droop is from the bottom of the rim to the guard... makes it so easy with a forklift

I replaced both, yeah you should be able to do them one at a time on level ground, but they can be a real bugger to press out (well mine were anyway)

Here's my little UK shortie. I have swapped the front anti roll bar links onto the back (they're an inch longer) and put Nissan Terrano links on the front. They're an inch longer too. You can't put the Nissan ones on the back as they're then 2" longer and foul the trailing arms.

I have OME springs and dampers plus 400mm body lift. At this angle, the springs were still tight in the mounts. Originally I could actually pull the springs out completely by doing this.

I cannot see a down side to putting fronts on the back. They are completely clear of any suspension parts.

              Compression: 615
              Range: 405

              Front (mm):

              Full Droop: 895
              Compression: 625

Has any of you thought about fitting a diff drop to reduce the angle of the CV's? My CV's is at +/-30 degrees when on flat ground. So when the wheel drop the CV's are at exreme /limit angles.

I have undone the 2 front mounting bolts of the diff to fit some spacers, but it made no differance :? cause the diff piviots on a ball joint on the cross member. Do any of you know of a nother way to drop the diff? :?:

Wouldn't this kind of defeat the purpose of the lift? By dropping your diff you'll lose ground clearance... :?:

thats the only way I know of to drop the diff. a diff drop kit will lower the 2 front mounting points and pivot the diff. If you used approx 1 inch spacer the axles would only drop by maybe ½inch. Also once you do this the factory bash plate probably wont fit and will need modding to get it to fit.

I have a diff drop kit, 1" tapered alloy spacers, I haven't lost any ground clearance, but the reinforcement ribs on the back of the skid plate had to be hammered flat at two points to clear it.

Did you notice a reduction in the CV angle?

A slight one, maybe 5 to 10 degrees, but I was assured by the company that made the front coilovers I have, that this would be sufficient for long term running at 2.5-3" of lift.

                              Re: Flex your muscles...

Finally got around to taking a couple of pics with the new setup. Haven't got it working exactly how i want it yet but getting there.

Mods: 2inch King springs, Lovells 80series rear shocks, 20mm spring spacers, 90s front sway bar links on rear, extended bump stops (approx 40mm).

The springs were loose by about an inch at the flex shown so i am thinking of trying out the 80s front springs.

                              Cheers,
