Just realised that my tyres have clocked up 25000km now, so might as well write a little review up on them.
Went with the Goodyear Wrangler MTR (265/75/16) for my car. Reason I decided on them was that Goodyear are a reputable brand and had just bought out this new design in their mud terrain (I think it was kevlar reinforced sidewalls or something they added) plus the fact that they were $20-$30 cheaper per tyre.
Performance wise, I can only compare them to the Grandtrek's as they're the only other tyre I've had on them, but in my opinion they've been great. Have helped a great deal in pulling me up rocks, loose gravel, slippery slopes and many a big bog hole. Have actually managed to get up a couple of slopes that my mate in an 80 series TD with BFG muddies on couldn't.
Road noise is very good for a mud terrain. Aided a bit by the good soundproofing of the Prado, but even with the windows down at 80kmh they only make a bit of a humm, no more than the engine noise you hear anyway.
But the main issue is how they've actually worn. After 25000km, about 90% on the tarmac and the other 10% mostly scrabbling my way up the rocky vic high country (those rocks are SHARP if you don't know them!) I'm really surprised as to how they've travelled. I haven't taken chunks out of any of the lugs, there's a few scratches on them (0.5-1mm deep maybe) but the best thing, they have an average tyre depth of 12mm left in them. At that rate they'll last me at least 25000km more with good grab, at which point they'd still be very driveable but maybe not as great in the mud, as they'd have lost a bit of their depth.
Here's some pics (sorry a bit dirty after some 4wding today) to show you.

I'd recommend these to anyone, even those who use them as a daily driver like me. Will be a very tough call for me when I next put shoes on, will be them or Baja's... not going to bother trying BFG's or Coopers due to the great performance I've had out of these.
