  • 16x7" -13 off set with 265/75R16 KL71's Rubbing

I thought I would try my spare rims and tyres that I run on my NH Pajero they are 16x7" -13 off set and 265/75R16 Kumho KL71's they bolted on fine etc but then I tried it on full steering lock you can see the result the tyre is firmly jammed up against the inner gaurd and mudflap, I have a 25mm suspension lift and normally run 265/70R16 KL78 Kumho AT tyres on the standard Prado alloys which I believe are +15 off set.
My question is what offset do you guys have if you want to fit some 265/75 R16 muds on

I use the Standard 16x7 Steelies which are +15 offset, with Mickey Thomson MTZ 265/75/r16

Check out glep_ep's build for some idea's on what is needed to fit larger tyres with wide offset rims.

I think the safe (no rubbing) offset for 2" lift and 265/75R16 tyres is 0. If your lift is only 1" then you might not be able to change from the original +15 offset, or +10 at best (which is what the shops will advise). You can make a judgement call yourself by getting your front end articulated, turn the wheel and measure the space.

Or if you really want a wide offset, go down the path of removing the mudflap, cutting/welding the body seam, and modding the flares as I have done. I haven't finished the mud flap mods yet, will get their eventually. I'm running even larger tyres, 255/85R16, on 16x7 -13 rims.

Thanks for the heads up about the -13 offset and rubbing. I like the Dick Cepek rim which only comes in -12. I can't be bothered with modding the wheel arch at all so i may have to find a rim i like with a 0 offset or may as well just stick with the +15.

        Cheers

I had rubbing with the +15 rims under articulation.
