I relise that tyre debates can become very strong on forums but I am at a bit of a loose end as to what to put on my Prado.
I have BFG AT's on it at the moment and have only clocked up 42,000 on them and they are totaly trashed.
There has been 2 desert trips in that time and in there defence i have never had one puncture on them and they have been torchured badly.
Alot of my friends from my 4wd club have had VERY bad runs with coopers and have ripped many sidewalls on trips that I have been on.
They have also ripped lugs of on there ST's so Copper tyres replaced 4 of the vehicles with STT's and covered the difference in price.
The STT's wore well but had VERY big side wall problems.
I then decided to buy Mickey thompsons but on a dash out to Birdsville with a group one of the Prados ran them and got 2 flats in no time.
They ladie at Inaminka Tyre repair laughed out lowd when we told her they had been a big selling tyre in sydney.
So anyway I am now Looking at Goodyear Wrangler MTR's.
I realy didnt want a mud tyre but i am hearing good things about how they stand up to hard outback use.
The BFG AT's are out of the question this time around due to them not keeping up with supply and I am not happy with the wear rate.
Any advice would be great.
Ben..
