Was looking around to replace my last set of Yokohama Geolanders today and found they are currently having a promotion - Buy 3 Get One Free.

Anyone looking to replace their rubber anytime soon can do a lot worse than these tyres. My last set now have just on 90k on them. That included a trip to the Cape, Western Qld, The Gulf and lots of beach driving. They have not missed a beat.

Not affiliated with any dealer in particular, you will find a couple of the big chains are offering the deal. For a set of 4 it works out at just under $210 per tyre for 265/70/16s. Deal runs until Nov 30 2015.

At my last service I was advised that my tyres had at least 3 lugs in the grave.

I saw the post on Monday about the Geolander promotion. So I used Dr Google and found that nearest store was Bob Jane in Balcatta (Perth). I went to the store yesterday expecting to make a booking but they were able to fit the new 265/75/16 with a wheel alignment then. So I had the deed done.

Now I have a "new" Prado, the steering, braking, ride and traction are so much better than the old deceased tyres. I had not realised how much they had degraded over the years. I think I will be using less fuel because I am finding I am using less throttle to maintain the same speed.
