  • Yokohama MT 265/75/16 vs Maxxis MT 265/70/16?

    Hi guys,

I've just bought some 16x8 alloys with snow tyres on them.

I want to swap the tyres out and go for some Yokohama MT's at 265/75/16 or Maxxis MT's at 265/70/16 to use specifically for offroading.

What would be the advantage of having 265/75/16s over 265/70/16s?

It's worth noting that I only have standard suspension and I'm currently running Yokohama Geolander ATs on the standard 16x7 wheels, which I use for general driving.

I figure that you can't go wrong having two sets like this guy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7dxLQuzhkA

The 75 is 5% of the tyre width taller in sidewall height. So this equals more diff clearance but you will notice that takeoffs is more sluggish and the fuel consumption goes up.
