  • Another "will they fit" thread...

    gday all,

    first post here
I've got a '96 Grande, just wondering if a set of 15x7 rims off a 1986 4Runner will fit? the tyres on them are 31"x11.5"
The stud pattern should fit I think, what about offset? I'm useless when it comes to offset and can't seem to find details on either the prado or 4runner offset

    Thanks,
    Rob

Yeah they won't fit unless you do something with the caliper, but I wouldn't recommend that. Prado usually have +15 offset, if you can find rims that have 0 or minus offset they would sit nicely and flush with the guards

so when its a 0 or minus offset, that brings the wheels/tyres closer to the diff?
I think if anything I'd like them sticking out of the guards a little, although I don't know if there are flares available for the prado to make it legal. not that it'd really get picked on by the cops anyway

no its the other way around, + offset means the wheel closer to the diff, - offset the wheel is towards the brake side. 0 offset wheels will sit flush with guards line and - offset (usually found on TLC) would bring the wheel just sticking out a bit but if you have GXL or flares it should be ok

ahk cheers, yeh had a look at the wheels today and noticed they sit inside the guards an inch or so.

might just look at getting bigger tyres in the meantime. is there anyway to bring the offset out without changing wheels? would spacers do it? are they legal?
