I chose -13 because it sits flush with the gaurds
It doesnt look like cop bait and sit out side the gaurds or anything stupid, so I havent been hassled
I dont know how stricked they are where you live, but I cant see every cop knowing the factory offset of every car and pulling you over to check, youd have to be pretty unlucky to get done for it.

This is where 16x8 with -25 offset sits, as you can see it's just under the flares, which is the reason it doesn't attract attention.

I'm running 0 offset with 265/75/16 tyres. It still scrubs a tiny bit on the inner guard seam AFTER being grinded slightly. I haven't had the caster adjusted but I imagine going 285 you might scrub even a little more...

Really when it comes down to it + or - 10mm on each side will barely affect the stability of your vehicle. Maybe still stick with something around +10 if you're going the 285's unless you're willing to grind 5mm+ out of the inner guard seam.
          That's just my opinion

anyone no offhand what offset i need?
Im running black sunnies in 16x8 -13
Keep in mind the lower offset you go, means the closer the inside front tyre will be to the back of the front gaurd when you turn (the bit you shave a bit off), hard to explain but when you see it you will know.
If you want something more aggressive i cant see why -22 wouldnt fit with a bit more massaging of the front seam.
stock offset is +15 or something (lame) :P
Are you running 285's or 265/75's with the -13???
by more aggressive you meen wider stance???

              Im only running 265s
I believe Taresk runs 285's on the wider offset (-25)

                here my plan,

                285/70 r17 ATZ ribs,

ive got hd coils in the front, so basically shit uptravel so i should only have to do the front flare mods, as i have an arb sahara bar.

rear suspension, extended bump stops, 1 inch coil spacers over my 2 inch coils. My thinking is, seeing as my coils are 2 inch over standard and 1 inch of coil spacers means that there is nearly 3 inches of extra space to play with when extending my bump stops and still having the same flex of an original 2 inch lift if my shocks and sway bar mounts are the right length.

Any issues anyone can see here ??

I'm no suspension expert but here's my thoughts:

                  Front:
285/70 r17 = 32.7 = Yes, you'll have to do the front body seam, mud flap and wheel arch. This is unavoidable.
Only 2" lift at the front? I wouldn't do it but others have. It'll be okay except for rubbing when giving it a proper workout, so it'd work but won't pass RTA or engineers.

                  Rear:
Good call on the bump stops.
Can the shocks extend to 3"? Doubt it. Some guys custom build a shock spacers to keep it to 2", but I'd look into replacing the rear coils and shocks with 3" models. More articulation
                  Add an adjustable panhard rod.

And for both, consider the sway bar connects. The common practice is to leave them alone for 2" lifts, but extend them for anything greater.

Won't the rear end be higher than the front?

the rear is currently lower than the front as i have hd springs in the front and sagged rears, so a sagged rear spring + a spacer guarantee's that thats the height it will sit at finally. I already have 2 inch springs and expect to get longer shocks in the rear once mine are worn out, they are currently suited to a 2 inch lift. I would only be playing with sway bar links in the rear as well, can't be stuffed annoying the front, guard mods are easier than playing with diff drops and all that crap.

as you can see the back is sitting down a bit

being a 97 model Im not sure if they had the airbags. (i'll assume Yes, because its a grande) But the best option is to spacer the front and a diff drop kit. You would still need caster correction or remove the front mudflap and cut the inner guard back a little. You shouldn't need to bash or grind back the body seams. Personally I would avoid that. If you dont have air bags you could bodylift it.

p.s. I've seen a 90 series with 3inch susp. + 2inch bodylift running 35's. Looks awesome, but I never considered it cause I have a diesel, and I need all the power I can get.

it's got air bags, i don't think i need a diff drop kit at this stage with my current lift. if i need to stuff with castor etc, i might just stick with the 265/70 17's
