  • Rim Offset With Lift

Can someone please confirm the rim offest on the stanard GXL rims. Due to the 70mm lift it looks like (and probably has) decreased the track on the front. I'm looking at a set of Black Steel rims by ROH, but they dont give the offset on their web site, this will increase the track and make the prado look a lot better.

I've yet to see it in writing, but I've always been told the stockers are 0 offset (could be wrong, that's just word of mouth).

I have -25 on mine, so that would mean my track is 50mm over standard.

The ROH 16/7 Toyota offset ( not navara ) rims fit good I had them on my Prado several years Photo at viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2067 (the blue one )

        yeh I think they're around +15 standard.

I got 0 offset on my new rims which bought them out rather nicely and closer to flush with the guards rather than sitting in

OEM offset is +15 with 7x16 alloys, +30 with 6x16 steel wheels.

is that the same for the 16x7 steel wheels as well or just the alloys? If different, what are the steel wheels offset?

            Thanks,

              Re: Rim Offset With Lift

              Hi,
KZJ90 is right about the offset, and it's the same offset for 16x7 factory alloy as 16x7 steels on the GXL/Grande.
I have fitted 16x8 zero offset CSA Stampedes (still running the 265/70x16 Bridgestone Dueller A/T tyres) and they look really good and still within allowable limits for changes to track width.
One tip, because these wheels are really meant for larger 4WD like an 80 they come stock with really big centrecaps to fit over freewheel hubs. If you talk nice to the supplier they might be able to organise the smaller caps which look a LOT better on a Prado.

I can follow most of what is being said about the 16 x 6 steel rims. I would like to fit the 16 x 6 steel Hilux rims to a 2003 Prado GLX diesel. Will they fit in regard to the offset and the clearance on the brakes? I can play with tire size to get the correct OD.

                  Re: Rim Offset With Lift

Hi Folks, I agree with Mallory Black - The centre caps with some wheels are huge. My 8" x 16" Mullins wheels require removal of the centre cap with 3 phillips head self tapping screws before you can undo the wheel nuts (guess what the chances are of dropping at least one in the powder dust is!) - a right pain and just to clear the free wheeling hubs of some trucks. Go for small centre caps if you can.

I'm looking to do the exact same thing with steel rims, but can't find any wheel company that will make what I'm after. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the rim in the pic for a 120 prado?
