/hi, i had 265/75/16,s on my truck,i thought it was ok fuel consumpion/performance .then towed the caravan down south.at speed110/120kph got24to25 litres to 100ks not good,so fitted 265/70/16,s and a k&n air filter. did the same trip to wagga and the fuel dropped to 18 litres to 100k.s the smaller tyre diameter helps the gearing, pulls better ,the taller tyre seamed to kill the performance.cheers rossy

Mattman,

If you get yourself a set of 16x7 GXL steel rims or a rim with the same offset you can fit the 265 70's or 75's without the need for flares, they look really good on the RV models to, sitting nice and flush with the guards.
PradoPower has a set of Copper st 265/75's and GXL steelie's on his RV 6 and they look tops 8) .

Edit : I just added a pic of the above mentioned Prado, as you can see the 265/75 Coopers sit just nicely inside the guards.

whats the go with fuel eco is it much worse or not to bad . Also do u know what year those steel rims came off and what offset they are ?

Mattman,

I think those rims should fit any year model 90 series, my GXL has the same rims and it's a 99 model, the RV6 pictured is a 99 model also.
Fuel use does go up a bit with the heavier larger diameter tyres( as you would expect), but not by much.

Polybags fitted!!! Prado now sits 1000mm at rear with 15psi Heading south for long weekend. Will let you know if fuel consumption has increased and if there is any noticeable power loss with the 265/75/16 D693's especially as we'll be towing the campervan.
