33's with no lift?

hey all, my old girl is in desprate need for some new tyres,
but i dont want to buy one size now only to spend more later, its a 97 RV with o.m.e suspension, a 3 inch lift will be the next mod (shocks are stuffed), will a 33 inch tyre fit on the standard suspension if i remove the front mudflaps and do a bit of grinding and extend the rear bump stops?
