Post GTG Return to WA via Boggy Hole

From our discussions on Sunday we have two separate groups returning to WA from the GTG. This thread is for the group that plans to do Boggy Hole and Palm Valley after the GTG then return to Perth via the great central road.

So far in this group we have:
Leachy & Jen
Russ & Jen & kids
Gary & Helen & kids
Mike and Mary
Deb ??

If anyone else wants to join us for all or part of this journey please let us know.

I’ve put together a preliminary itinerary. Let me know what you think. Once we have a firm plan we can make the required bookings.

Saturday July 11:
Travel: Yulara to Boggy Hole (Full Day Drive)
Accommodation: Bush Camp

Sunday July 12:
Travel: Boggy Hole to Palm Valley (4 hrs Drive)
Accommodation: Bush Camp

Monday July 13:
Travel: Palm Valley to Yulara (569km)
Accommodation: Ayres Rock Resort

Tuesday July 14: Yulara to Warakurrna (Giles) (336km)
Travel: Accommodation:
- Visit Lasseter’s Cave on Route

Wednesday July 15: Warakurrna to Tjukayirla Roadhouse (479km)
Accommodation: Tjukayirla Roadhouse
- Visit Giles weather station in the morning

Thursday July 16: Tjukayirla to Yellowdine (858km)
Accommodation: Bush Camp

FridayJuly 17: Yellowdine to Perth (401km)

The Campground Manager at Ayres Rock Resort, Susan Porter, should look after you if you let her know you're traveling as a group as part of the PP GTG. :wink:

I was booking all my accom today.
I have booked the accom at yulara 08 8957 7001 for monday 13/7/09 for our return trip.
I just said the PP group.

As far as all the other stops on our way home, we dont need to book do we, its either first come, or has allready been organised. is that correct?

How many cars do have so far guys?

I had two other cars interested in doing Boggy Hole instead of Glen Helen, so am looking at sticking with the main group
up to Uluru (so kids have some company) and then going via Boggy Hole and Palm Valley. Looks like you guys are going the same way

If there is enough room for 3 cars please let me know.

Okay now I am confused, is there anyone doing Boggy Hole route instead of staying at Glen Helen or is everyone now staying with the main body at Glen Helen and then doing Boggy Hole after the GTG finishes on the morning of the Saturday the 11th of July?

I have so far not told Glen Helen about any change in numbers but I was there on Saturday and they have very few people actually booked in to stay there from our group.

Everyone from WA is doing the Boggy hole trek AFTER the GTG. We have about 6/7 cars doing this trip.
