With much regret I have to inform you all that I will be unable to attend the PP GTG '10. I have already sent an e-mail to Matt & Paul, so they can open up my spot to the next person on the reserve list.

As many of you may be aware for the past year I have been helping Brad get MAXTRAX into the US market. He asked me if I would help him with an auto aftermarket products show in Las Vegas. SEMA is the largest aftermarket auto show of it's kind and the largest car show in the world. I have always wanted to go and being asked to display my FJ is one of the biggest honors I can think of. It would be in November and is too close to each other and a substantial time thief that I can't possibly make both. With Brad being 'up above' for the event Wil (from Sierra Expeditions and from GTG '09) and I invited Brad to wheel the Baja peninsula to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on the Baja 1000 racecourse as competitors are pre-running a week before the race.

I know I replied to you via email Ben but I thought I would also reply on this thread to. I am sorry you cannot make it this time but I understand the opportunity that has been given to you and Wil and if I were you I would do the same thing mate. I hope you have a great time at the expo and then wheeling through Baja.

Just an update on the GTG, I will soon be sending out an email to everyone on the confirmed list as to paying their deposits to Riverwood Downs. The precise amounts will vary with respect to the amount of people on the booking but there will be more detail in the email.

The confirmed list has been pretty dynamic the past few weeks which means I am constantly moving people from the reserve list to the confirmed list there are currently 6 people still on the reserve list but from experience with last years GTG the closer the event gets the more people drop off for one reason or another. So if you are on the reserve list there is a good chance you will be promoted to the confirmed list in the coming weeks.

I am still in negotiations with a major sponsor for this GTG and I have already secured a 3 page story in 4WD Action magazine to cover the event.

Chester has to pull out of the GTG. This years GTG was possibly going to be the last stop on our half lap of OZ but due to work and a few other things we will not be getting away from melbourne as early as we expected so will probably be somewhere near broome when the GTG is on.

Chester has to pull out of the GTG. This years GTG was possibly going to be the last stop on our half lap of OZ but due to work and a few other things we will not be getting away from melbourne as early as we expected so will probably be somewhere near broome when the GTG is on.

Sorry to hear that chester, I will take you off the confirmed list tonight and promote one of the reserve people in your place.

Hello All and Mav,

With much regret I am unable to attend the 2010GTG and wish to give up my place for another deserving member.
Another trip has been organized by the Mrs, one that was promised by me a few years ago to which she has just decided to take me up on.

Unfortunately I can only take so much leave from work during the year and can’t do both.
So a hard decision had to me made,….either her trip or the GTG.
As we had already been to last years Get Together in the Red Centre it was only fair to go along with her plans this year.
I was looking forward to the trip down with the Qld Crew (and may still do the first part), and catching up with some familiar faces again, but I guess there’s always next year.

With much regret I too have to pull out, a wedding in October has now taken priority for our annual leave which is a shame as it was also my 40th birthday during the event. Thats one less 90s among the sea of 120s although next year if closer to Alice could be considered,

Folks can I please ask that you send an email to [email protected] to officially let me know that you will not be attending. It is hard enough to track peoples comings and goings without having to search through the forum threads.


Similarly we are now getting down to the point where there is only one person left on the reserve list so if you are thinking about wanting to join the GTG then now would be a good time to send an email to the above address and request to be put on the reserve list. Currently we are running a drop out rate of around 2 people per day. I expected this as it occurred in the lead up to the last GTG but as we have reserved camping spots at Riverwood Downs we need to be able to tell them if we are not going to be needing all the campsites.

Similarly for those that have paid their deposits to Riverwood Downs, please let me know via the above email address that you have done so. I can then see at a glance from the spreadsheet who has and who hasn't paid.

Hmmm, I am pretty sure you were on the list of addressees for the emails, I sent out a few over the last couple of days. Let me check again but in the meantime please send me an email to [email protected] so that I can make sure I have your correct email on the contact list.

Folks I have sent a few emails out over the last few days to all the email addresses I have for the confirmed attendees, that is every confirmed attendee should have received the emails unless you have changed your email address since registering. If you have changed your email address then please send me an email to [email protected] to advise me of your new address, also if you have not received any emails from me on the GTG then please send an email to the above address and let me know.

Deposit paid,email sent.Took a trip up to Riverwood Downs yesterday to pay our deposit and to have a look at the place. Even though it's not far from home it's a place I havn't been to before and it looks like a great spot.Well maintained grounds,nice river for a paddle,cafe, bar and plenty of open space.It just happen to be lunch time so we had lunch at the cafe and it was most enjoyable and a good selection.A good option if you don't feel like cooking after a long day out at the GTG.Cant wait for October.

Is this map on their website... or did you get it when you booked?

I am booked and paid for :!:

Me and Samo are bunking it in the "Swamp tent"

We shall arrive on the Thursday 30th Sept and depart Monday arvo 4th October 2010. Camping site number 73
