2011 PradoPoint GTG is SEQld - Update 25 March 2011

Hello fellow PradoPoint members. With moderator/administrator approval, SEQld is the official GTG for 2011.

This year, we have decided to conduct the GTG through a committee who will deal with everything from costs, destinations, day trips, multi-day trips, insurance etc.

There may be different routes for vehicles with trailers/caravans etc. Further information will be posted soon on the new GTG website - (Still under development but a link will be advertised soon).

Hi fellow PradoPointers. Our first 2011GTG committee meeting was held last night at Richoson's Place (Thanks Richo). We have decided upon GTG dates and tried to accommodate all school holidays across Australia in reaching a decision. Unfortunately, we could not accommodate all states as they overlap. The best dates to accommodate the most people was selected as 4th to 9th October 2011

Start Point - Sunshine Coast (2 night camp)
Mid Point - Kilcoy Region (2 night camp)
End Point - Border Ranges Region (2 night camp)

All sounds good, We're just putting the finishing touches on the Trips that will be offered and getting all the finer details together.

Well the 1st Recce has been completed with more to follow in the near future.

Just thinking... a bit of geocaching might be something worth incorporating into the PP GTG.

Never really done this before but have seen a little about it. Could be fun for the entire PP family.

We got into geocaching a couple of years ago, the novelty wore off after about 2 days :roll: Could be a fun activity in a group for a once of though.

Is there anything for kids to do while around the area?
Need to entice the family to go along for the trip.

We haven't got that far down the track , the site at Woodford is an a nice creek for swimming, the 2nd site hasn't been decided yet, and at the beach we all know how good a game of beach cricket is followed by a swim or possibly some surf fishing. We are happy to listen to any ideas you may have.

I'll just add to Richo's post that the first two sites we are looking at both have BMX tracks on site.

If your kids are into Pokemon or Yu-gi-oh or anything like that our son will be more than happy to play with them endlessly :wink:
